    Perform patient intake and accurately record vital signs as a first point of care
    Safely administer medications and perform essential hands-on clinical procedures.
    Conduct EKGs and collect, handle, and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
    Maintain a safe and sterile clinical environment by following proper safety protocols.
    Manage patient flow by updating digital charts and coordinating admissions or lab services.
    Support daily medical office operations, including supply management and prescription processing.
    Handle medical billing, insurance processing, and basic bookkeeping with confidence.

    Our Medical Assisting courses are designed to develop a strong foundation in both administrative and clinical competencies essential to modern healthcare settings. You’ll gain experience in medical office operations, patient care procedures, and the specialized responsibilities commonly performed by Medical Assistants. The curriculum also supports long-term professional growth and exam readiness. By devoting 20 hours each week in classes, you can quickly complete the 595-hours of required classroom instruction before starting your externship. The supervised externship provides practical experience in physicians’ offices, hospitals, or other healthcare facilities. While certification is not required to graduate, many students choose to pursue credentials such as the NCCT National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) or the American Medical Technologists (AMT) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). For those interested, faculty provide guidance and support throughout the certification process.
